The Pheasant Shooting Season in Scotland

The pheasant is a most common and popular gamebird throughout many Scottish estates, and they form a quarry in both driven and walked up game shoots.

The birds originated in Asia and were extensively introduced throughout Europe and North America as game bird for sporting purposes, and so their sporting ability and good eating has made them perhaps the most common bird for the shooting enthusiast.

The birds inhabit woodland, hedgerows, field margins and land with adjacent cover.

Pheasant Hunting season is 1st October to 1st February.
